Service Description
What You'll Learn The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the fundamentals of pistol shooting. This comprehensive course is designed for individuals with limited or no previous experience with handguns and focuses on building a strong foundation in safe handling and effective shooting techniques. 3 hours (Zoom session) on Monday Night & 2 hours (range training) on Saturday. Course Overview: Firearm Safety: Emphasis on the NRA's three fundamental safety rules, safe gun handling, and secure storage. Pistol Mechanics and Operation: Detailed instruction on pistol parts, operation, and an overview of various types of pistols. Ammunition Knowledge: An understanding of different types of ammunition, its components, and its safe use. Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting: Instruction on shooting fundamentals, including stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control. Range Rules and Procedures: Comprehensive review of range rules, etiquette, and the proper procedures for shooting on a range. Shooting Positions and Shooting Qualifications: Practical experience in shooting from various positions and a qualification shoot to demonstrate learned skills. Maintenance, Cleaning, and Storage: Techniques for the proper maintenance and cleaning of pistols to ensure longevity and performance. Upon completion of this course, participants will receive an NRA certificate, indicating their understanding and proficiency in basic pistol handling and safety. This course not only prepares individuals to safely enjoy recreational shooting but also lays the groundwork for advanced training in personal defense and competitive shooting.
